Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: 1. Dre Broeders provides a very safe, small home away from home with everything the traveler could need, even including a huge bottle of drinking water! 2. The security is very good: burglar bars, safe. 3. Able to arrange transport with owner to bus station. 4. The owner was very conscientious & ready to help with anything. 5. I found all the average people of JD to be very friendly, courteous & helpful. 6. Great Internet that always worked

Negative: I do not have any complaint about the property. I did not like Juan Dolio beach or area - I do not think it is worth going to. The property is very close to beaches but 1. the Juan Dolio beach is pretty bad if you want to enjoy the water: rocky, has small but strong waves & current, unsafe for swimming, snorkeling or surfing. If you just want to tan, drink & party - JD beach is the place for ypu! 2. there was a lot of noisy, dusty construction on beach road, so much so got so bad that it completely blocked all movement, no cars, motorcycles, peoples could not walk by or access the beaches in the main area, anyway! I felt very sorry for the hotels, restaurants and businesses. 3. Juan Dolio is supposed to be an ideal spot to get to Isla Catalina. Coincidentally, all 6 tour excursions attempted either in Juan Dolio or online, canceled booking reservations. 4. public transportation to arrive to JD is a bit complicated especially if you have luggage 5. the town is spread out; difficult to find everything needed just by walking but cheap "motoconcha" motorcycle transport is everywhere
